Forensic speech science is the application of linguistics, phonetics and acoustics to legal investigations and proceedings. Through FoSS we are expanding the way we collaborate with practitioners, through supporting providers to meet expectations around regulation, validation and accreditation and providing additional resource in-house to carry out forensic casework.

Increasing expectations around method validation and accreditation to international standards are welome and necessary to ensure the regulation and safety of forensic science. We are keen to support forensic speech science practitioners to meet important expectations in this area. We are interested in exploring bespoke collaborations in the following areas:
Inter-laboratory comparisons
Proficiency tests
Forensic casework
Forensic casework
